Installation 13' height x 12' diameter This work is an installation about the politics and infrastructure of water use in HI, specifically looking at the amount of water used by tourist lodging vs. island residents. I believe that materials have "mana" (power.) With that in mind, I have used as many materials as possible that are directly related to the concerns addressed by this installation. This installation is constructed using pvc pipe, organza, digital imaging with slide projection, “islands” fabricated from disintegrated hotel soaps and dried flowers from handmade orchid lei, “hotels” fabricated from kitakata paper and wood, lights, computer, speakers, sensor, cd players, original multi-track audio (hawai’i residents speaking about tourists/tourism in hawai’i.)
