About The Artwork
Room-dimensioned (environment) installation, including: acrylic painting on canvas, life-sized figure (a positive mould of my body's cast, painted realistically), „chessboard”: wooden table, glass, chess-pieces, metronomes, chess clock, etc., music stool, fan, rope, curtain, etc.) Dimensions: painting: 230 cm x 270 cm figure: life-sized „chessboard”: 80 cm x 80 cm x 80 cm Spatial dimension of the whole installation: approx. 3x3x3metres 2011 Exhibition of final works (diploma) Barcsay hall, Hungarian University of Fine Arts, Budapest "The work is structurally consisted of the following elements. A certain spatial construction (curtains, pseudo wall, etc.) ensures physical support for the background painting and spatial illusion of the imaginary room opened to a (painted) moonscape and supplying spatial closure for the complex installation. Besides, this resulted in a spatial-specific effect: exploiting the exhibition place's corridor-window the installation could be watched through this opening. Painting elements appear not only in the background landscape but on the surface of the realistic figure ('protagonist), or in other parts, as well. The (hanging) figure – because of being my image – naturally needed sculptural support and moulding help. After the procedures at the end it was handled by painting touches and finally became finished and dressed with a wedding dress and wig. The 'metronomes playing chess' (with its supporting table with cover, chess-clock – and metronomes - transparent glass chessboard with shadows of chess pieces due to pieces fixed under it and lighted from beneath) represent a distinct unit and system within the whole installation. Finally, other additional interior features and effects enhance the spirit and impression of the ('environment') installation (e.g.: little coffee-table segment with two (filled) whisky glass, engine functioned moving music-stool under the figure -which also assure the motion of the hanging figure-, the painted landscape framing real curtains which are slightly blown by a fan, and the curtain in front of the outer window through which the whole vision is 'vivified'. "

In 2006 I became admitted to the Faculty of Painting of the Hungarian University of Fine Arts. My masters were Ãrpád Szabados (2006-2010), Péter Kiss (2006-2011) and Imre Bukta (2010/11). (During the years I took part in the annual exhibitions of the students of the University. I also took part in several competition exhibitions in hall 'Barcsay' of the University.) In 2010 I gained erasmus scholarship which I spent in Valencia, Spain (Universidad Politéchnica Facultad de Bellas Artes). Aside from analogue photography here I attended 'constructions of metal' sculpture course where I learnt how to weld and acquired the love of metal as a material as well as the urge of creating spatial objects and phenomena. At the end of the semester I took part in a group exhibition with groupmates of the course in the campus of the university. Having returned I graduated in 2011. In the first years of the university I was devoted to actually learn painting, that is, to acquire the 'knowledge' and master-strokes of traditional (realistic) painting and drawing. Meanwhile I realized that the concept, philosophy and personal intrinsic motivation for me is much more important and essential than the mere formalism of a certain artwork. From this time on this elemental intention started to determine the form, and began to find each time the most suitable medium for itself to cristallyze. Instead of rigid formal characteristics I rather define myself in a philosophical-sensual way which means I take the risk of my work being outwardly heterogenous, variable and diverse as my own experiences, intentions, desires and impressions are changing by time. I have a substantial ontological way of thinking. Being conscious about the absurd, unchangeable and inexorable fact that our life is determined to death we are desperately trying to find the reason and the essence of life. Unreasonable art is one of our arms against death and entropy. Consequently, because of my personal outlook on life, my works can be essentially associated with mortality, death, grief or passing, faded memories and moods, the progress of unsymphatetic time that we can feel in our bones. My affection to dramatic feelings and moments, taut situations and infernal edges of life sometimes drifts my works to risky and grave, delicate fields.
