Ships in a Crate
The construction of this cage had a long path connected to the last reasoned facts of the crime Italians. When I found this rusty cage I decided to create a metaphor for middle-class life. The 3 nooses symbolize the 3 main reasons for suicide in Italy last year: Equitalia for taxes, home loans and financial for small personal expenses. The mirror on the bottom represents the idea that every user of the work may be reflected in the concept that I want to express: the golden cage (colored with acrylic face time to resurface the rust) that each person tries to build in life through a stable job, creandosi a family, buying a car and a house, you can destroy any moment with the loss of jobs and the growth of taxes. Many people who at this time are in serious economic situations cowardly choose to commit suicide rather than face it. The title refers to the suicide note Pasqualino Clotilde, a framer of Rome of 57 years who hanged himself April 2, 2012 in his shop the day that his wife had started working in a cleaning company to help you pay the debts.
