About The Artwork
The British people's trust in our government is currently (2021) at an all-time low, thanks to the lies and corruption of successive governments. By setting the work in a theatre, I wanted to create this idea of falsehood, of not being able to believe what you are told. This myth is enhanced by the optional spotlights, powered off the mains, and discreetly switched at the back of the work. The text is done in genuine horse shit, stabilised and odourless, with an emulsion transferred print as the main background image. The canvas is finished in acrylic paint and varnish.
