About The Artwork

In military jargon, ARTA means artillery and air defense. Introduction: The ARTA series is a poignant exploration of the juxtaposition of serene natural beauty and the destructive power of conflict. Inspired by personal reflections during a recent trip to Russia, where I was confronted with a sense of helplessness amidst unfolding events (war with Ukraine, Navalny's assassination, etc.), this project examines the complexities of the human experience against a untouched snowy landscape. Concept: ARTA's painting on canvas is dominated by a pristine snowy landscape, symbolizing tranquility and purity. However, this tranquility is shattered by sudden flashes of orange, symbolizing the destructive presence of artillery. These flashes disrupt the tranquility, making escape or shelter impossible, reflecting a sense of vulnerability in the face of conflict. Significance and Symbolism: The contrast between the untouched snow and the orange flashes serves as a metaphor for the clash between beauty and violence. It reflects a harsh reality in which even amidst the most picturesque scenes, the specter of conflict looms, making people feel powerless and unprotected. Creative Process: To create ARTA, I spent a long-time taking images of clean, fresh snow during a winter trip. These textures formed the basis of the project, giving it authenticity and depth. Through digital manipulation and artistic interpretation, I transformed these textures into a compelling visual narrative that captures the essence of the human experience amidst turmoil.

I'm Eduard Revidovich, a photographer whose journey began in Khabarovsk, Russia, during the final years of the Soviet Union. In the year 2000, I made a life-changing decision to move to Japan, where I found myself deeply inspired by the aesthetic brilliance of Japanese creators and the unwavering perfectionism of Japanese masters. This marked the start of a new chapter in my artistic exploration, particularly in the realm of photography. Immersing myself in the rich tapestry of Japanese culture, I became engrossed in the study of textures, colors, and the incredible potential offered by generative art. The fusion of Eastern and Western influences became a hallmark of my work, resulting in a visual narrative that transcends cultural boundaries. My dedication to pushing the boundaries of generative art is evident in my innovative approach to photography. Through my lens, I capture the essence of my surroundings, blending traditional and modern elements into a harmonious visual symphony. Join me on this virtual journey through my artistic evolution, where East meets West, and the pursuit of perfection intertwines with the exploration of generative art. Discover the beauty of textures, the subtleties of color, and the limitless possibilities inherent in the captivating world of my photography. Thank you for being a part of this creative adventure.
