About The Artwork

The painting is painted with acrylic and mixed media ( like crayon, collage) on canvas, stretched on strong wooden bars. The painting is ready to hang. It is sign in the front and back. I work in many different type of media and materials. It is often the media og materials in it self that inspire me to make my art. I am altering between very loose and expressive to more controlled manner. The painting has several layers. Feeling on the dialog with my work - often listening to music, especially jazz music.

https://www.fjerme.com My art is versatile, though my classical art education and early love for portrait- and figure- art expressions, am I still growing more towards abstract expressionism. I work periodically in various techniques and like to experiment with different media and colours. In my abstract, mixed media paintings, my methods are very improvisational (often listen to jazz), building alternating layers with bold marks of unconscious randomness and more specific marks of full purpose and intention. My aim is to find a harmony and direction in my chaos painting (and head:)) towards a happy result and a final end to the back and forth communication and co-operation with my canvas. I was born in Bodø, North Norway, in 1951. After half a lifetime, living a busy life, moving and living in 15 different places - and "sailing the world" - I settled down in 2007 - in my home and studio by The Sognefjord, where painting came back as a constant and fundamental presence in my life. It is my main activity, though I suffer from PTSD, needing the coherent time I get during the dark winter-months in my "bear-cave" to find enough concentration and FLOW, in my state of, often, too strongly creative mind and sensitive brain! During summertime I willingly let me distract, enjoying outdoors activities in our beautiful scenery.
