In June 2013 I opened my first JUNKSPACE project in the Mews 42 Gallery in London. It mixed acrylic & industrial paint with recycled metro billbords I had found in Paris , recycled and painted over in an effort to translate what Architect Rem Koolhaas meant as the It was globally well recieved for a first London solo show, so I set out to open my 2013-2014 workshop in the south of Spain with a real yearn to follow it up. Oxydation and oceanic winds do good together. I readily started to focus on abandoned oxydated scraps of metal left to die on the Andalusian coast and countryside. The Spanish real estate crisis has left a-many construction sites abandoned, and the metallic Junk left to rust in the sun and the salty winds is everywhere. I started to work on 10 pieces of recycled construction oxydated material in view of a new Junkspace serie, the OceanOxydes.

The immaterial connection to the natural world informs the abstract work of Persian-born artist Firouz Farman Farmaian, whose lifetime spent in exile in Paris, Andalusia, and North Africa profoundly influenced both his creative practice and his personal character. Common themes in his work can span from nature to architectonics and the interplay between realism and abstraction. Firouz FarmanFarmaian's ever-evolving body of work presents deep underlying exploratory elements unified by recurring motifs of movement and texture. The raw and visceral emotion conveyed through his pieces is moderated by material properties, often created, and sourced within the context of collaborative tribal craftsmanship. Each work represents the result of careful contemplation regarding the techniques and tools necessary to achieve a singular aesthetic and emotional intention. Firouz employs a diverse range of media, including painting, print, sculpture, film, and even music. These works are frequently presented as installations or performances, serving as momentary meditations on the energy and motivation found in the visible world. https://instagram.com/firouzfarmanfarmaian?igshid=OGQ5ZDc2ODk2ZA==
