About The Artwork

Video-installation (video, photograph, drawing): 30cmx150cmx3cmb&w sound dvd (soundtrack by Giancarlo Sbolli, sound effect by Gi Bottoglia) length: 2min, 27 sec. The Man writes his own destiny. The destiny writes onto the Man. If someone would ask me, as an artist, to express such a wide concept, I would only be able to stay on the surface, which is the place where flat traces and residues lie together, in order to refer to an unknown deepness, like geometric projections of lost axonometries and more uncertain real things. Thus my artwork inquires the theme The Man and his destiny, requested by Saint Fedele Gallery, beginning with the bidimensional aspect of the reality, the most superficial one, that shows itself as a page onto which someone could write, whether this would be skin, photographic paper or sketching one. In so doing, the destiny defines itself, and describing itself it becomes older and older, enriching the experience, of the flesh or the image it doesn’t matter. The destiny is written word and primeval breathe, one with the other weaved together in the Man.

I am a little -not so important, I mean, but also tiny- italian artist, born and still living in Italy...I've studied art in two different ways: one for the restoration of ancient paintings, the other for the analysis of contemporary art. This lead me to have such a contradictory artistic attitude, that stays between inventing and copying something about reality. I also travelled to improve my artistic language and to stimulate my inner contents with an external and even different point of view; so I went to Barcelona to have exchanges around the way to extend my art in a pedagogical sense; then I moved to Sarajevo, where I tried to find out an artistic reason to its vivid way of living, both in unity and diversity. This project is still in progress
