About The Artwork
Triptych “Twins” by the young Ukrainian artist Yulia Belyaeva, inspired by two real brothers. Looking out their behavior, communication and games, the artist concluded that each of us was originally based on the aggression that is in the process of growing, mastering the tools of ethics, we dulls in ourselves. By the analogy, in today’s Ukraine we can make an association with States-Brothers, as we used to call Ukraine and Russia. In the background is a view of the destroyed buildings, which can be compared to the common heritage of the totalitarian regime. Consequently, to overcome aggression and violence that prevails today in Ukraine, we need to have the government policy aimed at tolerance.
