About The Artwork
The Nagual Series was a set of spontaneous improvisations arising out of a subtle and mysterious erotic feeling that pervaded my life at this time. I was working with White Gouache on Black Paper. This was both challenging and intriguing. I had worked intensely with colour for many years and now to work with only a single colour was daunting and yet strangely liberating. I felt great freedom as I worked. To explore the tonal expressiveness was a subtle experience. Each work was a meditation in itself, opening a new State of Being for me.
