About The Artwork
Each painting is 4x4 inches, total dimensions without accounting the space in between pieces is 16 x 12 inches. This installation is made of 12 almost identical pieces that were maid within 30 minutes in the same location. Each painting takes the viewer through the experience of a complete sunrise. I will add photos of the full installation soon. These paintings do not come framed. The collector may frame them in a way that best fits their space and aesthetic. The paintings in this contemporary collection depict the desert sunrise observed from the Mojave desert, as they transform into intangible color gradients with each passing minute. they capture the gradual shift of hues in the morning sky - a daily spectacle that's gifted to all but experienced by only a few. My painting practice involves deep meditation and the meticulous training of the eyes to observe these ever-changing colors, thus creating a color-coded experience.

Colombian Artist based in California. My work is inspired by the constant change we perceive with the passing of time. Most people approach art as a tool for personal expression, so the artist can share their perspective, vision or opinion about any given subject. I believe, art is not an outlet for us artists to “create” an opinion. Instead I think about it as a way of understanding what’s around us and making sense of it. Just like musicians make up melodies and lyrics that relate to their experiences to generate a deeper understanding of how they are processing that experience, or like dogs understand their surroundings through smell, I believe the artist understands the world by observing, feeling, and by perpetuating that feeling through painting or drawing or other technique. It is a very intimate and personal process that allows us artists to get to know ourselves so much better.
