8th Circle of Hell – Bolgia 7 2008 In this work I was influenced by Dante Alighieri and his Divine Comedy, the most important poem of the Middle Ages and the greatest literary work in the Italian language. Divine Comedy, the full epic, was published in 1472, follows Dante’s journey through Hell, Purgatory, and Heaven. The 8th Circle of Hell holds more sinners than any of the other circles of Hell and It has 10 levels or Bolgias. This ditch consists of endless amounts of snakes. These snakes were what used to be the sinners who are transformed into horrendous reptiles because of their lives as thieves, Signed using one of my previous aliases ‘Sokolov 2008’. Acrylic on canvas. Sold unframed. W70cm x H50cm x D4cm quality box canvas. Thank you Ben Falconer
