About The Artwork
This painting began when I was applying gesso to the stretched canvas. From the start there were texture and gestures, just from applying and throwing thick gesso onto the horizontal canvas. As I studied it later, I looked for themes that coincided with the texture and gestures. I found some of them in a students' artwork that I had saved. (Often, students didn't collect the work they had exhibited.) From the beginning, the forms and colors were fascinating, to other artists also, but it was a puzzle and it took me several years to finish it, in 2017!
