Amnis / Fracture X Painting

Created January 2023. This highly textured piece was made by preparing the two panelled surface with multiple layers of gesso and acrylic. The work then begins to arrive slowly using only knives. The foreground is then completed and sharpened in with brushes. The 10th main work in this successful series begun in Brussels in 2018. The series looks at levels of information in the universe, and the interpretation of our environment through the senses. The works attempt to simulate pattern finding mechanisms in the brain through the us of a triangle matrix motif. The works move from chaos up to a more ordered state, simulating our experience of the intangible. This painting seeks to express dynamism, and energy whilst remaining non-violent and serene.
