"And Then There Was" Painting

Keith Surtees is an artist, musician, and student of the human psyche and has worked in Scandinavia for over twenty years, and has been a co-owner of three spiritual centers connected to the human journey through life. Keith's love of art and creation started as a young boy, and he claims his muse is "Mother Nature" in all her glorious forms. Keith has exhibited works in Sweden, where he lived with his wife Fiona for 16 years. Now living in the sun and thriving life of the Costa Blanca in Spain, Keith's inspiration has blended with his love of Spanish culture and music, and his worship of the vast mountainous landscapes of Spain. "My inspiration is the power of life and Mother Earth, and the works of art that are life such as insects, animals, stones, rock formations, and all plant life, plus the combination of light, water, sky and the elements. Having lived in Iceland, Norway, Sweden, and Spain along with my birth on the coastline of the English Lake District, I could claim for sure, that I have overdosed on the beauties mother nature provides for us." With my wife Fiona, I have an equally adventurous spirit who will drive the car anywhere, climb, dive, swim, and cycle her bicycle to the most remote areas of any country we love. Out of this spirit of love of life, nature, and the challenges of finding new scenes, plants, insects, and even reptiles of assorted color and a varied level of danger or not, I have, for sure, found a companion that loves life equally if not even more than I do. Out of this spirit of adventure and passion for color, form, and light and the movement and dance of form and light has grown a desire to add beauty to beauty as nature is added to with each stroke of a brush, and new forms are spontaneously grown on a canvass.
