About The Artwork
I have always been inspired by the landscape that surrounds me. Whether it be a sub-zero winter morning or a sweltering summer afternoon, I am on site, painting. I try to capture not only the visual aspects of the landscape, but also the physical and emotional sensations it gives me...Appelbaum IV was painted on a Fall evening, when the apples were just past their peak, and the dimmed light foreshadowed the impending winter... I hope that my viewers will experience the same. Oil paint has always been my medium of choice. The linen that it was painted on lends itself to a much longer life-span of the work. The painting is professionally framed, and "Ready to Hang". Framed Dimensions: 52.5" x 40.5". Each piece of artwork that I have created comes signed and dated, and includes a Certificate of Authenticity. Shyami Codippily was born in Sri Lanka, and moved to the USA with her family. She has been an artist since she was three years old, painting in oil, watercolors, and gouache; sculpting in marble; and creating various 2-d and 3-d works with various other materials. She uses her art as an avenue to communicate her experiences with nature. She has received numerous National and International awards throughout her artistic career. Shyami is also the author, artist, and producer of three acclaimed books on Howard County, Maryland: Farms Never To Be Forgotten, Churches Never To Be Forgotten, and Manors Never To Be Forgotten. Each piece of artwork that she has created comes signed and dated, and includes a Certificate of Authenticity.
