Ars Meretrix Painting

Artists who will do anything and sacrifice their art just to please clients and potential buyers are prostituting their art. Yes, they get rewarded financially but in my opinion their personal expression and creativity is lost. The quilt, essentially a bed sheet made from assorted textile, represents the different art styles available. Ars Meretrix embraces and makes all art styles and is eager to pounce on any one who falls within her reach. She needs the money to survive but is essentially poisoning her career by slowly fading in a sea of unimpressionable art. She will lose her soul which symbolically speaking is her signature. I do not say this is wrong as we need to live but we must continue to do what we like to do and not be dictated upon by the market.
