This painting was create on location at Artramon Farm and House in August of 2018 while at Art in the Open painting event. What an amazing view of Wexford in Ireland. Such a beautiful valley and of course lovely cows to frame the life element of it. With its beautiful ruin down in the corner. A quintessential Irish Landscape view created in Oil and wax media for an impasto effect. I used a palette knife to create this painting which gives it a lovely freedom of mark making.

A beautiful wooden frame from the local framer - Spectrums.Dimensions	62 x 31.5 x 3.5 cm (framed) / 51 x 20 x 0.5 cm (unframed) / 51 x 20 cm (actual image size)

My name is Hannah Bruce. I am a professional and award-winning artist based in Woking, England. Since 2002, I have been creating original artwork with mediums such as oils, acrylics, resins, ink, and pastels, and have sold my work all over the world. If you are interested in commissioning me to create something specifically for you then please let me know. Background Prior to becoming a professional artist in 2014, I was a Surrey-based teacher of Art and Design for over 13 years. I studied Fine Art and English at the University of Wales and completed my postgraduate certificate in education at the University of Cambridge. I was chairperson for the Woking Art Society from 2015 to 2018 and continue to participate in the committee creating exhibitions and pop-up shop events every year. I really enjoy painting the outdoors, in particular, the art of plein air painting, which comes from the French “en plein air,” meaning “in the open air.” This practice involves leaving the studio behind and painting landscapes on-site. I have helped to set up and collaborate with the Surrey Hills Plein Air Painters and have participated in events such as Norfolk and Norwich Paint Outs, Cambridge Paint Out, A Brush with the Broads, Art in the Open Ireland, London Plein Air Warriors, and occasionally with the Wapping Group and Royal Oil Institute friends. I have demonstrated for over five years with the Surrey Contemporary Art Fairs. I have been an active member of the Family Network Surrey since its inception, winning Business Networker of the Year at a national awards recognition event in Birmingham. What can I say? I’m a very social person.
