VIEW IN MY ROOM
This line painting is inspired by the Aymara culture that inhabits the Lake Titicaca region at more than 4000 meters above sea level. The Aymara culture is characterized by its ancient mysticism and the structure of its textiles. Perhaps an indigenous woman carrying her baby on her back with an ahuallu comes to mind. These garments are woven by them, and the information about them is passed orally from mothers to daughters. In the combination of its colors, as well as the width of them, they are read as codes. Who knows how to read an Aymara textile can decipher more or less, the age, the region, the marital status, the intellectual degree, if she has children and how many and much more information of who owns it. It is said that in the textile there must be gradients of colors and combinations that are reminiscent of the Rainbow, this being the one that unites the sky with the earth, but it should not have the typical colors of the rainbow so that it ceases to be an illusion. In my need to rediscover color in all its forms and possibilities, these "Aymara" series are a meditative way of searching for depth and meaning. Do you like it? What meaning would you give your life to the color red that is predominant? And what about the other colors?
