About The Artwork

This minimalist painting consists of two distinct parts that complement each other harmoniously. In the upper part, a soft powdery pink dominates the canvas. The color evokes a delicate sense of femininity and gentleness. It bathes the upper part of the painting, creating a soothing and warm ambiance. The lower part is dominated by a subtle green-gray. This shade creates a calm contrast with the powdery pink. It may evoke elements of nature, reminiscent of the serenity of green landscapes. The composition is uncluttered, highlighting the simplicity and beauty of the two colors. A sharp line separates the two parts, creating a clear boundary between the pink and the green-gray. This two-part minimalist painting invites contemplation and reflection. The two colors, though distinct, seem to interact in a way that creates a visual harmony. It may evoke feelings of contrast and balance, prompting the viewer to consider how these two colors interact and complement each other. It offers a calming and elegant visual experience while also prompting reflection on color interactions and the emotions they can evoke.

I was born in Paris. Now I live and work in Le Vésinet, in the Yvelines area of France, where I have opened a gallery and studio in 2017. My favourite subject is the portrayal of landscapes. The abstract is always present in my work to a greater or lesser degree depending on the series of paintings. I would define my work as “abstract representation”. I like to inspire each person’s imagination so that they can experience the landscape in their own way, in a way which belongs only to them. My paintings never have an evocative title, just a reference, which allows complete freedom in their interpretation. Each canvas I begin is an adventure. When I work I release my emotions in layers of colour, one on top of the other; it is a sort of dialogue with the canvas. Generally (undoubtedly to escape from the anxiety caused by the blank canvas) I begin my paintings with large swathes of black, scraping and allowing the paint to run down. Then I rapidly apply the layers of colour, it is the hand which expresses the spirit of the work. My paintings are often completely transformed from one day to the next. I keep track of the different stages, either visibly, or by “overpainting” and through this process of layering, little by little, is born the balance of the finished work. From very large canvases (over 80 inches) to the ‘Mini’ format my technique is always the same: I work with a very wide blade using acrylic and marble powder which gives a nice and matt texture
