About The Artwork
This painting was inspired by a wrought iron planter bar which I found discarded near my home. Although it is sometimes used to hang pots with flowers, it also seemed to me to be a perfect perch for birds. The addition of ceramic tile was used as a way to balance the image. I had originally planned to mount the bar directly on the work but it proved to be too heavy in weight so I decided to paint it on with black acrylic paint. I selected the birds from various magazine photos.
