Ken Lucchese began oil painting when he was fourteen years old by teaching himself with painting method books. His favorite subject to date typically reflects images of water. Ken holds a BFA in oil painting from the Allen R. Hite Art Institute at University of Louisville. He also studied at Vermont Studio School and Louisville School of Art.  Ken is a founding member of the Zephyr Gallery. Zephyr Gallery is a co-op gallery that started in 1987 and is still operating in Louisville, KY.  Ken has received awards including the “Outstanding Creative Award” Jefferson Community College and the “Merit Award” University of Louisville, Juror Peter Morrin, Curator Director at J.B. Speed Art Museum.  He has volunteered for assisting in a Computer Graphics Workshop at University of Louisville and the “Foundation Studies in Art.”  Through the Visual Arts Network, he volunteered with the installation of Public Sculpture in the Galleria, 4th St. Ken has paintings in both private and corporate collections including the J.B. Speed Art Museum.  Ken has taught oil painting and drawing at Delphi Center for Teaching and Learning, University of Louisville.  He has also taught drawing at Bellarmine University, School of Professional & Continuing Studies.  Ken is presently teaching at the Metro Arts Center and at Lettersong located in Butchertown. He continues to share his skill and love of painting through private lessons.
