About The Artwork

The traumas which forsook people after the two world wars were never named back then but were handed on to the next generations. Only recently have I started to deal with the topic realistically. "Black Cross" is still abstract. It stands for the loss of hope and faith in wartimes. It is also a reminder of the fact that both the catholic and the protestant church had not denied the Nazi-dictatorship but blessed its arms. Thus they betrayed their christian principles and fostered not only the persecution of the Jewish people but of those christians, too, who stuck to their morals.

Another individual ehibition is planned in May 2021, provided there is no lockdown. Pictures What all these pictures have in common are their intrinsic dynamics. Sometimes this shows in the brush work, sometimes in the ambiguity of a posture. Even seemingly peaceful paintings are disquieting as soon as you see them next to their companions. Tools and Finds Tools and hardware are not only thrown away when they are broken, but when they are still in good repair, too, because there are new gadgets to replace them. I appreciate the beauty of these artefacts and think they will soon be admired in technical museums. Up to then I will endeavour to lay my hands on some of them.
