About The Artwork
Australia's worst bushfire in recorded history occurred on and around Saturday 7th February 2009 in the state of Victoria. Thousands of hectares of land and property were destroyed. Over 400 people were injured and 173 died. On that day, now referred to as 'Black Saturday', there were 400 individual fires. Fire is a destroyer, yet from it comes new life.
