I wanted to take away the color of the flower and focus on the light that it catches from the sun. I mirrored half of a dahlia to create a new flower. People love symmetry and perfection and this is one way to create it in art. Symmetry can be found in our own appearance, also in animals and this is a fundamental part of animated life forms.

I want to paint these subjects from a unique standpoint and mostly zoomed in. I like to have sharp contrasts in my work but also show subtle light nuances within brightly colored objects. Lately I'm focussing myself on floral art and symmetry.
