Blue Magic Painting Creating a large artwork is like pure joy. The sound the canvas makes when the brush and paint are pounding on it and the feeling of being in the artwork is magical. Plus, it’s a good work-out the way I paint, dancing around the canvas writing, drawing and painting from all sized together. Within the general color theme, I am seeking to find the power of light and the best way to boost the warmth it creates. This is a slow painting process with many layers and fast bold gestures, before quieting down to the detail. Each mark explores how we interact with subtle and strong thoughts. This is my mind in motion, minute by minute, with all its fleeting thoughts and how I guide them to purposeful action. Blue Magic is an original acrylic painting on stretched canvas that is part of my continuing Indigenous series. Painting sign in lower left front and also on the lower left back.
