About The Artwork

Everywhere we go, we find traces of people who went before us. “Bones” in this context include any skeletal structure, be it metal, masonry or timber. I have even extended it to include earthworks, ruined forests and colonial history. That might be stretching it a bit, but it's my painting and I make the rules. Wherever you get interesting ruins (and a successful marketing strategy) you get tourists as well. I have painted about them in the past, and will have more to say in future paintings.

Shipping & Returns

I live in Tasmania, which is about as far away as you can get from everywhere else, and spend as much time as possible in the wilderness - primeval forests are good for the soul. Landscape here is old and weathered and rugged with plenty of rocky mountains and mysterious valleys. Both the scenery and history get described as gothic quite regularly, so that's what I paint. Tasmanian Gothic.
