In life we are often faced with a choice, no matter what happens, we always have a choice of which path to take. Do you remember in Alice in Wonderland that moment when Alice met the cat standing at a crossroads and asked him: "Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?" "That depends a good deal on where you want to get to," said the Cat. "I don't much care where-" said Alice. "Then it doesn't matter which way you go," said the Cat. Usually people move on the principle of least resistance - we park in the widest space closest to the entrance, leave the handbag or coat on the first chair in our house instead of hanging it in the wardrobe, study (education, which is usually chosen by our parents), we graduate, start a job in which we rarely “burn”, but at least the monthly salary makes sense of our meaningless days spent realizing someone else's vision, we create families, children, marry, separate, get together with someone else move on or not... we often do what society asks of us not putting a lot of thought into what we want and what our personal mission is… we often walk in the footsteps and trodden path of our parents. We listen to friendly advice, respond to the expectations of others. We hurry, we are late, out of breath we keep turning the hamster wheel for fear that if we stop we will hear what the soul wants and it will be difficult to get off the merry-go-round we are used to being on. Going with the flow is easy and unsatisfying. Making choices on the other hand is difficult and exhausting. But once you realize that there are two worlds and you live in the one you don't want to be in, you have only two ways - to tear yourself apart trying to build a bridge between the two worlds or to make your own choice. Never underestimate the transformative power of personal choice and never forget that you have a choice! It's harder to constantly fake a bridge and delude yourself that you can be both worlds at once.
