Burrower Painting

This work was an attempt to explore the idea of hiding away (burrowing). We are very frail and anxiety ridden creatures, I wanted to show this with the nude figure catching your eye with it's colour (it's harder to not scrutinise the figure when it's so bright). This in itself I feel is a good analogy for being socially anxious, you feel you are standing out and everyone is staring at you and picking on your faults and imperfections. Of course hiding in a cupboard is also an analogy for protecting yourself from outside, using the confined space as a cocoon.
