About The Artwork
I started with strong colors in red, purple and yellow, and in the process added figures. I selected the title Child in red and realised that this is also the title of a poem by Rainer Maria Rilke: Sometimes she walks through the vilage in her little red dress all absorbed in restraining herself, and yet, despite herself, she seems to move according to the rythm of her life to come. She runs a bit, hesitates, stops, half-turns around... an, all while dreaming, shakes her head for or against. Then she dances a few steps that she invents and forgets no doubt finding out that life moves on too fast. It's not so much that she steps out of the small body enclosing her, but that all she carries in herself frolics and ferments. It's this dress that she'll remember later in a sweet surrender; when her whole life is full of risks, the little red dress will always seem right.

I am a Danish hydrologist currently working as a principal investigator and researcher at the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland at Øster Voldgade 10, 1350 in Copenhagen (working in close cooperation with Copenhagen University institute for geology and geography). I am known for my research in the field of hydrogeology, with a focus on groundwater resources and their management, as well as the impact of climate change on groundwater systems. I have published many papers in the international scientific journals, and I am also a member of several scientific organisations.
