Chinese oddity - Oil on linen 40x52x2cm (15.7x20.5x0.8in) 2018 Ready to hang SOLD, private collection, Mullingar, IE. In 'Chinese oddity' I left my imagination free to inspire creativity. I started the artwork painting a beautiful mushroom I found in the woods near my hometown and let imagination suggests all the elements of the painting. I put great attention on details and studied Japanese 18th centuries printmaking to give the background a true 'far eastern' touch (including the colour I used, which is blue cobalt as in Chinese pottery).

In my paintings I focus on figures and their interaction with the landscape and architecture. After spending some years being very faithful to the samples, I am now experimenting different styles of painting and alternating portraits (mainly commissions) with sperimental artworks. Also, I am increasingly taking advantage of image editing softwares in pre-production to find the best colours and lights for the painting. I use oil colours both on wood and linen. All the materials used in the artworks are high quality, from hand primed canvas (by myself, using a classic method that prevents from aging and deterioration) to colours. Some of my paintings are currently part of private collections in Italy and abroad. Awards: 2023 Finalist, Artfinder Creative Contest - Unity Competition, Online. 2017 Mulieribus, 4th edition.
