Amada Suero, Madrid 1975 Resident in Barcelona. I started painting like every little child, at a young age, my parents were immigrants in the United States and we travelled by car from New York to California, we spent many hours painting and there my passion for painting and drawing grew, at the age of eight I had already gone to many different schools, public schools in New York, California, Dominican Republic, a private school in Madrid (Torrejon de Ardoz) and I ended up in a public school, My parents divorced and at the age of ten painting had become my way of surviving life, it was the only thing that took me away from the sad reality I was living, I had a lot of lack of love, so now I could create my world of fantasy. The teacher at school knew what drawing and painting made me very happy so she introduced me to oil painting and at the age of eleven I was already starting to experiment. As at that time I lived in Madrid I used to visit the Prado museum very often, I was astonished studying the works of the great painters,to look at the brushstrokes closely and to go through the look thinking about the pigments that they had used, the Bosch caused a great impression in me from the beginning, all that fantasy opened me a new fun new fan to explore, I began using the painting as a matter making investigations and erasures on the same canvas until I managed to choose my infallible colours in my palette, the pastel colours take me to represent the tenderness and the sweetness I like to take to the tenderness in my pieces representing with feminine figures since I feel more identified and comfortable to explore my interior and to take out of my feelings in my works, the gold in a background for me is to reflect a wonderful world of colour, like when after the rain the sun comes out and the whole sky shines.
