The History of art is filled with lots of biblical stories for obvious reasons. Whether you believe in the Bible or not, It’s filled with great stories. I felt inspired to paint a version of the subject matter, Daniel in the Lions Den, after viewing a famous version of it painted by Peter Paul Rubens. I love art based on literature and mythology. Hoping that there’s some thing or someone out there protecting you from danger in your life is a nice thought, and not getting torn apart by a bunch of hungry lions is a great story full of drama.
