About The Artwork
This massive weight washed up from the bottom of the ocean on to our shores after one of the winter storms. After asking local fisherman, I learned that the weight is used to hold down nets which are dragged along the sea floor, either trawling for scallops or fish, Im not yet sure. The weight & force of it is something to be reckoned with and it is a wonder that it can be tossed aside on the turn of the tide.
