About The Artwork
"Do you really see us?" is part of the "The Daydreaming series": a dialog between the challenges of parenthood and the wonders of childhood. This dialog incorporates ideas developed by the French philosopher Gaston Bachelard (1884-1962) and the American Transcendentalist essayist Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882). According to Bachelard, we “need to resort to the world of the daydream where memory and imagination remain associated”. Emerson defended that “the child and unschooled farmer’s boy stand nearer to the light by which nature is to be read than the dissector or the antiquary."

In 2023, LFM successively defended his PhD thesis, which incorporates concepts of the sublime in Art developed by the philosophers Edmund Burke (1729-1797), Immanuel Kant (1724-1804) and Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882). Adopting a multi-disciplinary approach that ranges from architecture, painting, screenplay writing, drawing and film, LFM seeks to approach the means of evoking feelings of the sublime in order to generate self-awareness. His work has been published/ displayed in Norway, Japan, Brazil and Taiwan.
