About The Artwork

"Eagle's Perch" Original 36x18 inch (92x46 cm) oil on canvas painting by Maine artist James Noseworthy painted in 2023. This stunning one of a kind piece is the second of a new series of 9 abstract "Rhythmic" paintings each depicting a famous landscape from the wild and beautiful state of Maine. This second painting depicts the South Midcoast of Maine near Castine. Created with quality Rembrandt oils and primed duck cotton canvas. The canvas is pre-stretched and back stapled with edges painted to match - may be framed or displayed attractively as is. This is an original, handmade, one of a kind work of art. It is signed in the lower right hand corner and comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist and hand written thank you note.

Son of renowned artist George Noseworthy, I am now back at the easel attempting to carry forward the family artistic legacy. Born into an environment where art was a language spoken fluently at home, I grew up surrounded by creativity and inspiration. My father, famously known as "The Pied Piper of Hibb's Cove", left a vibrant mark in the artistic culture of Newfoundland and beyond, influencing my current path. Now, after studying and refining my skills over the years, I rediscovered the connection to my art heritage. I returned to the Northeast, where the wild, natural landscapes and seascapes echo my childhood in Newfoundland. Based in Maine, my work is a dialogue between the present and the past, between my creative vision and the legacy I inherit. My oil paintings, characterized by their rhythmic abstraction of nature, are not just representations of the landscape but are infused with the flows of energies as I experience these actual places I visit in my travels. “Life is brief, but art lives on.”
