Supercamp: high heeled superherosGianni's progenitor are Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein: the american popart is referred to by the artist as ideal ispiration for his icons, his women and superheros, portrayed in paradoxical situations.He likes to connect imperfection with perfection: his gorgeous superheros can have metallic prothesis at the place of a leg and still look great, better as a matter of facts; his beautiful women can have psoriasis on their face or braces and their teeth and look even more goodlooking because of it. So beauty and faults can turn in his artistics universe into something really perfect.It's a very positive message! Gianni Scardovi was born in Bologna (Italy) in 1968. Since he was a kid he fancied Marvel Comic Books and collected all kind of of Comics: from The Fantastic 4 to the Avenger. Having a well developed sense for drawing and design, he begun painting with oil and convinced himself in continuing to do so by opening in 1997 the first "Pop Shop" in Bologna, a laboratory where the artist paints and sells his works to the public. Nowadays he participates to several regional art contests, collaborates with emerging stylists and creates events to show his works. This way he has created a circle of clients who ask, and even mandates, for his works. Scardovi is a self-taught dreamer, which is said in his paintings. He still lives in Bologna but dreams to paint in New York.
