Erosion Painting

In contrast to Hydrologic, another painting in this series, Erosion is a reflection of the attrition of stone and other materials by natural means that alter the shape and form of the earth. Cliffs are worn to boulders, stones and sand by the sea, lengthening the shore-line. While those stones will never reform, they have taken on new purpose, becoming a source of joy for beach combers and holiday makers, and being transported into homes in shoes and hastily shaken towels. However, like water, the substance itself does not diminish in quantity, merely altering its appearance.
