Floating memories of a Spring in Kyoto Painting

This large work is part of a series called "Floating memories" after three extended stays in Kyoto during the Spring months when blossoms explode all over the city and especially in the temple gardens. These stays have influenced my work in many ways since several years. They helped me find my way towards simplification, abstraction and increased freedom in regard to interpretation of what the eye sees, as if the mental took its place. This work is painted on first quality linen canvas, unstretched, with a ready to hang fixation on the back. It can be carefully rolled.
