Frida Viva la Vida Painting

For me, it's not Dia de los Muertos, that I think of when creating. My work just happens to fall into that category. Interestingly enough, there is a category in which people can explore. I get asked why I paint about death all the time. It's not about death- it's about life and celebrating life. I surround my skeletons in vibrant and contrasting colors, doing very lively activities; eating, drinking, exercising, feeling and expressing very human emotions.
