This is a painting of the silhouette of the big tree at Fry Family Park, in Stark County Ohio. Not far from my home. I took a picture with my phone that evening, while the sun was setting. The photo did not do the sight justice, so I tried to recreate that awe-inspiring feeling in this watercolor painting. The eerie feeling gives almost a sense of spookiness, but also of grandeur as well. It's one of the few trees left standing from the older Forrests in that part of the Appalachian Plateaus. It's possible even one of my settling ancestors in the 1800s set their sights on this very exact tree. Pulp Cold Pressed paper was used with watercolor paints and some gouache. The cold press paper is slightly grainy, but not coarse. The painting is currently in the process of being professionally framed by my local custom framer, Cyrus Custom Framing in Canton Ohio. So the painting will not be able to be fully purchased or shipped until March 31st, 2024. When it's complete, I will also upload better quality photographs of the actual painting. Currently the framed photo is a rendering of what the custom framing should closely look like. The framer is a high quality framer, which will include hanging hardware and proper archival protection for the artwork. I also include certificates of authenticity will all my originals paintings.

Contemporary impressionism artist with watercolor, oil pastel, and oil paint paintings. I have only been painting for a few months. I was told repeatedly I was extremely talented at art as a child, but quit art at the age of 14 entirely, picking it back up 18 years later recently. Not even a single sketch my entire adult life. My skills are a little rusty, but I am enjoying the journey again. This time without it overwhelmingly forced on me.
