"Abandoned, forgotten beauty a flowers has grown upon concrete standing the emptiness of sunny LA round sculpture of sweetness like urban totem the lighthouse in a dirty desert shining over the garbage" ORIGNAL PAINTING There isn't any particular presentation for my work. I am a bit allergic to presentations: I prefer the content instead of the package. I use different techniques and media mixed together, including printmaking, photography, drawing and painting. I use acrylics, oil pastels, gel ink pens, markers and pencils on paper, canvas and wood. At this stage of my career or artistic life, I do not follow any narrative in particular. Each artwork has a specific introduction written in from of poetic statement. I find myself inspired by single episodes, single thoughts. My art is a fluid sequence of ideas projected into social commentary. Establishing a common introduction is almost impossible. That's why I try not to be caged into any category or label. I want that each artwork tell a story by detached, autonomous thoughts. Making a statement reduce the possibility for an artist to research and explore at 360 degrees. Any statement can be changed and reinterpreted at any time, infinite times. I let my art to be free to develop within any direction. It's more like a book, or a movie. It tells right there and stays right there. What comes next is life: I never know. It's just a restless evolution. I use mixed media because that reflects the world I am living in: all differences are connected, creating a unique texture, the perfect wave Fabio Coruzzi exhibited at galleries, museums and art fairs around the world. STATEMENTS The statements series are inspired by the contradictions of contemporary culture. Slogans and hashtags are reminding us what matters, what doesn’t, what should and what shouldn’t. The new fetish of “speaking out” or “being woke” is something to acquire and show, like a status symbol or a trophy. There is always something - useless - to tell. Statements works are mirrors in which is reflected our political subconscious. We are the contents of a rapidly changing society in which people are having hard time to establish democratic dialogues among diversity. Slogans and politics are questioning the present times. My Statements are risky business. They ask one simple question: how contemporary culture can still survive its own ridiculous failures. URBAN LANDSCAPES (psychographic) The urban landscape works represent a permanent visual research of space and interaction. These works - crossing places, cultures, languages, divergences, convergences - represent the refusal of a given photographic reality. I manipulate the image by visualizing landscapes above the appearance, the photographic reality within its material experience. The appearance is meant through Sartre’s existentialist philosophy: Appearance is Existence. The imagery of these works focus on the interacting space, uncovering what din’t “appear” at first sight I mold my own ideal habitat using my own visual experience.
