Areas of the artwork have been scratched back into or taped off during creation to reveal the white clayboard surface underneath. Comes with a natural light wood frame and backing. Artist Statement: Through depictions of architecturally infused landscapes as well as watercolor studies of wildlife, I aim to explore the interplay between memory, nature, and our symbiotic relationship with the environment. By building thin watercolor washes and opaque layers of paint, I seek to create a visual narrative that captures the essence of landscapes and their connection to human experiences. Just as layers of paint intertwine and interact, so too do our actions and experiences shape the spaces we inhabit. By depicting these complex levels within the landscape, I hope to evoke a sense of nostalgia and trigger memories in viewers. These memories serve as a gateway to reflect on our personal connections to the natural world and the impact it has on our lives. I believe that our connection to the environment is not only physical but also deeply emotional and spiritual. In my art, I strive to capture this interconnectedness, showcasing both the beauty and fragility of this bond. It is my hope that this will prompt viewers to consider their own role in shaping the environment and the importance of nurturing a harmonious coexistence with nature.
