Ice on The Creek Painting

Icy blues and swirling whites create beautiful textures and patterns across the canvas. Layers of brushstrokes and textural application of acrylic. Reminiscent of thin layers on ice on creeks, ponds and bays. My art has elements of nature that I find beautiful which is reflected in organic shapes, gestural lines and layered textures. Color plays an important role in my work. I find color evokes memories and emotions that are an important part of the process. I get a real sense of joy and accomplishment when I create a piece of artwork that has a pleasing balance of beautiful color combinations and shapes that flow across the painting. The natural environment of the east end of Long Island and places I visit around the world are constant inspirations. The painting is acrylic on gallery-wrapped canvas with painted sides that compliment the composition. This is unframed, signed and ready to hang with wire and hardware on the back.
