About The Artwork

I still wanted to freeze the time, but this time in the Zen atmosphere of a universe partitioned like a Japanese garden. The central form, well defined in relation to the background, suggests a hilly and mountainous landscape at the same time as an abstract motif that would have been extracted from a perhaps more figurative set. I also gave an appearance of amalgam of mineral layers present for so long that they seem to have existed forever. The earth and grey colors were chosen in this direction to accentuate the rocky aspect. Acrylic has been worked in layers thicker than usual to bring density to the represented material. https://youtu.be/0phW-IyMME0

Luc Andrieux considers painting as an opening on the spiritual world that inhabits the universe. For him, it speaks directly to the mind of the one who looks at it without going through understanding, it is a matter of intuition and escapes reasoning. In his achievements, he always tries to bring out a kind of deep truth that shakes the mind. The colors, the light, the matter are assembled in compositions more or less abstract to arouse the escape and the freedom, both correlated to the desire of a dream world, fantasized. Through his various researches, he paints the border that binds man to nature and separates it at the same time, the past and future presence, the imprint, the passage, the presence and the absence of time. Its purpose is to generate an interrogative contemplation, certain that painting makes better the one who looks at it thanks to the emotion it transmits to it. https://www.youtube.com/@lucandrieuxpaintings
