About The Artwork
The Catrina is an important character in mexico's society, the snob, the rich, mostly painted by Diego Rivera and Posada. This is my version of my catrina, on the background a pyramid, and she is half dressed as a Tehuana and half a virgin, with a flower cempasúchil of death. Two Papantla dancers holding its ribs. Shes holding an alebrije and a sacred jaguar head, shes dressed with a tehuana skirt decorated in a silver color imitaiting embroidery, with a background of green agaves.
