About The Artwork

This is a small painting from my series of works on paper. Made with an expression free of stains that reveal environments, in this case, I see a landscape in which there is wind lifting the leaves. In the background, close to the horizon, in the dark blue spot appears a small figure that observes the waves. IMy inspiration almost always comes from the encounter of color spots and what they reveal to me. Of the "apparitions" they reveal to me. And then everything gets involved in my world of dreams and poetry.

Her painting is abstract. Colors and stains plays a crucial role in Conceição Rhodes paintings. She use the colors in an abstract way. In this free process, she surprises with joy, with the appearance of forms and beings that arise from the interaction between the color and her inner world. She feels that this is an escape from reality and a journey into the fascinating unknown and a sense of freedom. In the course of her work, she feel transported for atmospheres of dream and mystery. Signs of Nature are almost always dominant. She use acrylics, paintbrushes and many other materials to make her works. She also makes painting and drawings on paper for textiles.
