About The Artwork

Have you ever felt wronged by others, by a group or your town that rejected you for not quite fitting in? Have you ever felt the collective pressure to conform by a group you did not respect? In life, there are all sorts of people we encounter and situations we find ourselves in. People can reject an individual for many reasons, but sometimes they do so for their own insecurity. If you stand out, or you refuse to fit in, then you can be that nail that sticks out that gets pounded down. The best revenge can be to remove yourself from those who trampled over you, so that they will never again have the benefits of your presence in their lives. You leave without looking back, letting go of all the built-up resentment and dark emotions, knowing that your inner peace is the best revenge to those who wished you ill.

Gina has always been artistically inclined since her childhood, winning awards in her early formative years (e.g. the National Artistic Gold Key award in high school). She has taken art throughout her education. Being romantic at heart, she is deeply influenced by the 19th C. Impressionism masters such as Renoir and Degas, Monet and their depictions of femeninity. As a perpetual dreamer, she endeavors to paint the beauty of human connections, shared affinity, positive and in hopeful messages of love and a life-well-lived in her paintings.
