"Lovers Cove, Laguna Beach." Painting

This painting was created on the balcony of my Laguna Beach home that actually faces the cove where lovers come to seek refuge and privacy. My home was located at the end of the peninsula, on a cliff over the water, facing this cove. As an Intuitive artist there is really never a plan....the work comes up on it's own somewhere from my subconscious. Every day lovers would race to get first to this small cove for themselves. The cliff overhanging the cove eludes to the many naked bodies that have graced this location. Many many hours of people making love in the cove. This work was nine months in the making. The layers of colors resemble the moss and the sandstone on the cliff.The colors in this work are burnt sienna and olive green layers of oil paint with a deep purple overcoat and the blue water of the pacific . The depth of this painting is 4 inches as with all my paintings all sides are painted out. This creates a very strong 3 dimensional painting. The four inch thick edges create a rock thickness like the cliff.
