About The Artwork

Titled "Mending Wall ~ Double Portrait". This is one of several stone wall paintings in a series of mine inspired from Robert Frost's poem, "Mending Wall". This is an actual section of stone wall in the middle of the woods behind my house in New England. In this one, there were two distinct groupings side by side evoking the "Double Portrait" part of the title. This is professional grade acrylic paint on canvas. The painting measures 48" high by 84" wide on a 1.5" thick stretched canvas. It is framed in simple 3/4" wide wood strips painted black. It's wired and ready to hang. Please look at the images carefully. This is painted very loosely with quick brushstrokes and intentional "irregularities" and drips inherent with painting. About the artist: Stephen Remick was born and raised in Vermont. He resides in a coastal, New England town with his wife, Anne Carrozza Remick, who is also an artist on saaitchart.com. Steve's paintings are in private collections all over the U.S. and abroad.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

I'm painting my back yard and the world beyond. Familiar, everyday sights that may only get a peripheral, passing glimpse. In-the-moment scenes… a yard sale, a backyard tree house, or a new house foundation under construction and filled with potential. Signs of prior lives… a centuries old, crumbling foundation who's long gone owner held that same potential as today’s builder, a cemetery reclaimed by the woods. Trying to guide the viewer to think in a deeper way, to realize our connection to each other, our environment, our past, and our future. Also re-connecting with an abstract, color-field series from the early 2000's, with inspiration drawn from land and sky and the abstract expressionist movement. In between all that, plein air painting when I can. Nothing beats painting from life. Born and raised in Vermont, currently living in Massachusetts.
